This question is inspired by https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30406201, but I am curious not just about programing, but all things that will be getting much easier …or got easier just recently.

Programming is not getting easier. It getting more complex, but the complexity is hidden . However, this all breaks down once you need to debug the system or extend the system.

There is however an ongoing budget increase in marketing to programmer/manager telling them that programming is getting easier.

Yes this is all true, but how often do you really need to debug or extend the system? It seems to me like I had to do that a whole lot more 10 to 20 years ago than I do now.

Right, for a simple crud app?. What is your domain?

Also, since everything is hidden, when a time come that you need to debug, it is much harder.

Hopefully playing games on every platform that supports a browser[0].

Spending money - either buying stuff or paying for services.

Most things will likely get more complicated due to the ever increasing legal code imposing more complex regulations, and changing more rapidly.

Web apps but this is already getting easier. Mobile web apps like in the App Store needs to become easier
