I adopted this approach and read some long-form sources once in awhile. My only vice is reddit, but I want to make the effort to avoid engaging with the news content often. Actually I hadn't used RSS until maybe 2 years ago and it's such a revelation.

No tips to offer. I find it impossible to avoid hearing about most news between wife and family.
