If you feel confident about your Latin/Romance general vocabulary (you already know how they work), I would recommend you to read old teaching/natural method books.

It is a book that teaches French in French from the ground up.


Books that teach a language using only that language, yes. Best example that comes to mind is "Lingua Latina per se Ilustrata" in Latin.
