I wonder if anyone calculates the economic cost of sanctions against the economic cost of "winning" a war and then having to spend money on the occupation.

If they have some kind of resource you can steal, it might work out economically positive for the invader, but if they are your neighbor then likely the impact on trade will render it a net negative win or lose.


It is clear that from Russia's side this war is not about economic gains. They are ready to sacrifice a lot.
