I skimmed some of the links and "Tell HN: China Is Entering Lockdown" seems to be not russia/ukraine related? Looking at the OP it's about lockdowns from omicron covid cases.
Great catch - there's certainly some false-positives, due to me only using keywords from the title. When I catch them, I add the id of the post to "hn_exclude". This happens the most for China, as China gets posted about quite frequently here.
There's some false negatives as well, as some posts have more vague titles, but those aren't as common. If anybody knows some examples they believe should be included, feel free to call them out, and I can have them included.
The sorting is set to score to favor the posts that get the most traction, and GitLab doesn't appear to allow sorting Markdown tables. However, there is a CSV version, so it can easily be opened in something like Excel.
The inclusion of Taiwan is temporary, and will be removed once it's clear that the CCP is only fearmongering by claiming that the US's hesitance to send troops to the Ukraine would amount in a failure to defend Taiwan from invasion[1]. A lot of events are occurring in the world outside of the Ukraine, and a lot of the people who are watching what's unfolding in the Ukraine are watching those events as well. As time goes by, it will be easier to see which of these are only coincidences (eg the missile strikes in Erbil[2])
