Does 'curse amulet' prove the discovery of Joshua's altar on Mount Ebal? (jpost.com)

A very evocative post but I am always sad to see interesting archaeology being used to assert claims about some biblical passage being literal or historical.

There is an interesting conversation about the connection between Bronze Age Greece and the curse’s lead that’s totally missed here; I was also always under the impression that it was the more northern cities(that is, Phoenicia) had invented this particular writing system but I believe that this find eliminates that idea, no?

It should be noted that this has not gone under peer review yet. While I find the news exciting, these sort of pre-peer-review press releases annoy me.

ive edited this comment to fit the current situation. thanx scop !

Thanks for the tip. I was unaware of that and have edited accordingly.

it would have been a great comment to highlight something that really resonated in the article, or just to start a chitchat aboutit.

Normally when a 2 inch piece of lead changes history, it's a bullet.
