I was on-site at a power company. One of their older COBOL programmers was retiring that week. The person taking over his COBOL job? His son.


That's the kind of nepotism I like. Elders passing on arcane knowledge that would be lost otherwise.

I work for a fairly well-known and successful tech company that's only about 10 years old, and Java is the main language for the company's flagship product. It's strange to me to see it lumped together with COBOL.
