Generally, it is unwise to try to make it personal, when the attacker has proven they are capable of infiltrating your system.

On the other hand:

Nor do the wealthy have much recourse if the bank decides to tell them their money is gone.

Or they could not live in fear amd do what they want. I wouldn't have sent what they sent, not out of fear, but out of pride and respect for myself. Fear isn't the right reason to not send the pics, honor and respect (for both others and yourself) is the right reason to not send them.

It wouldn't make me live in fear to NOT send dick pics to thugs... not sure where that came from... It just wouldn't accomplish anything to send them one. It would be like poking a bear with a needle... why do it? It's just a stupid move. You are better off just sending what you have to the cops, but my bet is that they had something to hide and didn't.

I agree, it's not as if I would advise doing what they did. I'm merely saying I wouldn't do it for a different reason. Not out of fear fear, but because it's not good form. Either way it's the same result. I guess I'm just trying to say I generally try to do the right thing because it's right, not because I fear retribution from the devil. Same here.
