New LG DualUp display is like nothing you've seen before (cultofmac.com)

I love the clamp / adjustable height feature. Using a laptop on a desk is horrible for your neck, and even a Mac Cinema display (has a 6" stand) was not nearly tall enough to allow looking straight out at a monitor without looking down. I had to get a tall clear doll display box and saw it off to the right height, then sit the Cinema on top. Worked great, but a pain in the ass to setup.

Everything in that photo inspires a rage deep inside me that I had not known to exist until now. The off-center mount, the single monitor attached to that mount, as well as the its-1-by-1-but-not-1-by-1 aspect ratio. Seriously hope this is one of those things that the mediacorps want to be a fad like 3d-tv's that just fade out into their well deserved obsolescence and obscurity.

4:3 or 1:1, pick one.

Why?

Seems like that one 'off-center' photo is just an option, of several.

I like what I can see here:

Couldn't care less about common display formats resulting from the constraints of historical tv and cinema technology, and the paths those have set for mass production of panels for 'consuming' media.
