Jetbrains is a half-good example. A lot of stuff that was before opensource was close-sourced by Jetbrains and now their support for it is terrible.

I.E. Terraform plugin. Stopped working past 1.0.11 and its half a year without an update.

So yea. Ppl ARE willing to pay for stuff that „works”.
