There is some strange disconnect between citizen and worker - a citizen has tenure unless they violate fairly high bars, but a worker has no tenure - yet we expect better results? maybe tenure is something we should consider at business?


Citizenship is not about tenure. Transgressions by citizens are punished by governments, but not by removing citizenship. The state punishes "its own", while outsiders may be removed or denied a path to joining = gaining citizenship. i.e. a sovereign state is not like a club.


Not sure how it connects to the post, but workers certainly have tenure in the context of unions. It is, however, arguable whether unions yield better results, at least for the customer.
