At this point it'd probably be better to invest in building good browser web UIs over dedicated apps. No appstore verification, no fees, it basically seems like a no-brainer at this point. I guess it sacrifices viral growth through appstore installs, but maybe just don't support transactions on the app and kick them to the browser.

This route avoids Apple having ANY obligation to protect its consumers .. when they choose to use a random website to transact.

This Coinbase issue is about Coinbase using an Apple App Store App to perform a service around digital purchases which ALL Apple consumers can EXPECT a certain set of values upheld BY APPLE INC on their behalf .. sort of protection by Apple when buying anything digital via an App.


How do you expect them to do that? Store the private key in the browser's local storage and pray it doesn't get evicted?
