James Sharman's build is nuts. He has been at it for several years. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3iHag4k4yEg&list=PLFhc0MFC8M...

Usagi Electric is taking it all the way with a vacuum tube build. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y149hLe1zYo&list=PLnw98JPyOb...

In the similar spirit, I just discovered project that builts nand2tetris computer on a breadboard https://hackaday.io/project/185131-the-hack-computer-from-na....

Wow that turned out very clean. This person must be rather experienced though. I appreciate that they laid out the design process there.

If you like this you may want to check out Ben Eater's series[1] building an 8-bit computer from 7400 series chips if you haven't.

Hey, author of the original post here. If you have any questions, please reply to this comment.

Nice work :) What's the clock rate?

Currently around 3.5 MHz.

That's a lot more than I thought.

If you're judging from the calculator video, that time it was much slower. The current speed can be seen in my post about the video card (https://imihajlov.tk/blog/posts/vga/).

I read that as discreet logic and got nostalgic for SGI and the days of 90s vfx.
