What was wrong with 1/2/3/4 for key binds? I played CS 1.3 -> 1.6 professionally in 2000s, never really saw folks do this.

Many people use mouse wheel for jump as well

Same for "duck jump" or "crouch jump" as well (which was technique used to move more silently).
