That the ad is for the fastest speed which isn't everywhere doesn't really need an article written, it's common sense. That "10G" is really just a marketing proxy for "DOCSIS 4.0 which can theoretically go that fast" while 6G is the max they actually offer anywhere deserves some spotlight though.
Speaking of ATT's offerings mentioned in the article they've been advertising the 2G/5G in my city for a while but it's still "just" 1G. Looking forward to whoever actually gets these speeds out here first.
10G is marketed this way because it works well at tricking people into thinking it's better than it actually is. It's frustrating that such marketing tactics work.
Relatedly, I once read a funny anecdote about how a 1/3 pound burger failed because people thought it was less food than a quarter pound burger.
