During a high-stakes conversation with internal helpdesk, the support person sent me a link which seemed to the exact same URL as I was having the chat.. That and some missing feedback minor details on the previous conversation text lead me to believe I was talking with an automated system..
I was wrong, the link differed by a few trailing characters, and was correct for what I was asking.. I was totally in the wrong. And I apologized to the person.
I wonder, how often this happens to the heroes behind online support ? And, I'm sorry I contributed to this behaviour! I will be mindful not to do it again.
