Interesting piece. My home automation solution is based on Homebridge, zigbee2mqtt and just enough Node-RED for charting and doing a bit of glue (virtual devices, custom integrations, etc.) and I’m very happy with it, but I was looking at Mako server the other day.

I found it refreshing, but the licensing is just weird — parts of it mention that the web content hosted by the server is also covered by it, and I’m not sure if that is a tenable approach.
