I started paying attention to UFO's after the 2017 new york times article on the subject, and yes, there is a perception that it's a US only phenomenon, but it's a misconception. I do not have a link to point you to, but UFO's are being reported world wide, and there have been some famous cases outside the US (as far as UFO cases get famous) such as the school, Wikipedia
