Walmart Fulfills 50% of Online Orders from Stores (marketplacepulse.com)

No doubt, they are formidably huge!

Wal-Mart likes to sort of blur the lines between pickup/store delivery/warehouse delivery, so sometimes I have to look closely to see what I'm requesting. I suppose that there will come a time when it just doesn't matter, and they'll fulfill the item equally whether it's in a store or warehouse. Currently there's a big difference in the delivery mode, because either they ship it with a carrier, or one of their drivers goes to the store, picks it up, and brings it in a personal car, like InstaCart style.

This is how Amazon dies and they know it.

Walmart already has the local warehouses in every neighborhood in the country.
