Ask HN: How does your company handle interrupts?

Our engineering team is constantly interrupted on slack, jira, meetings, etc. Has your organization come up with a better way to keep people in flow while also keeping the little things moving? Wondering how you have designed a way of working to avoid constant context switching.

No Meeting Thursday's are a good start, but has anyone implemented No Slack Tuesdays or something similar that is thoughtful and actually improves everyone's quality of life? Be that the use of snooze or turning off notifications and a policy that sets the ground rules, I am curious how others have addressed this.

I have only a few meetings per week and otherwise am left to do my job. Nobody interrupts me, but I also have a lot of down time and don't tend to work for 8 straight hours

are they complaining or is it just you thinking there is a problem?
