Oh man, exactly the same. There must be millions of us. [Added: Wikipedia claims "By 1982, an estimated 621,000 home computers were in American households", which might not be up to date with Christmas, but still looks like a no.]

(I started reading Byte in 1981, though. By the late 80s the best years for the magazines were clearly past.)
