Only in the wealthiest cities and neighborhoods, which is a very small share of the total. There's almost 20,000 cities in the USA and only about six of them have an average living wage above $100K.



what is the actual median wage?

living wage is an aspirational goal. it doesnt tell you much about if 100k is a huge step up or down from typical jobs.


And debt is at its highest ratio in modern history, along with all cost of living metrics. Most of those sub-$100k zips are dying.


Believe it or not but there is a whole world beyond San Francisco and NYC. And those cities are thriving.


Believe it or not i'm from one of these cities and they are most certainly not.
