Just wait until Amazon starts raising prices on the fly if you shop their site using iOS.


As a consumer all I hear is billions arguing with billions about how they're going to fuck me out of one more dollar this week, then one more next. It's really helping smear any good faith I have with brands to the degree that once again, resentment creeps up a few more percentage points.

Additionally, the new found wars over these 'platform taxes' for these companies tells me a fulcrum was met and hatches are being battened.


It only makes sense for businesses to pass on the cost of the platform tax to consumers. It isn't sustainable to take a 30% hit to your margin unless your business was solely built on that given platform from day 1.

So long as we, the consumer, allow this to happen businesses like Apple and Google will continue to do it.


Something about that wording sounds like "I don't trust them now (actually I didn't before either)". Not a change of opinion, just another reason for your existing opinion.
