What Is an Uncensored Browser? (catonmat.net)

> In contrast, an uncensored browser is hosted remotely, streaming its interface as video to the user, effectively bypassing Internet filters and blocks, which is particularly beneficial to users living in countries with stringent government controls.

So we stream our browsing habits to a third party who can collect all my data, including which sites blocked by my ISP or national firewall I am accessing. No thanks. I'll stick to a VPN or TOR.

Remember, your still getting a censored perspective of the internet, but now from wherever they are hosting the browser's from.

You might get routed to different servers with differing localizations or feature breakage, and its hard to say you are actually getting a better experience by streaming your browser.

I imagine that browserling.com will just get blocked by e.g. school firewalls. What does this service actually solve, and why not just use Tor?

Nice. Too bad we can't also get an uncensored web (including LLMs). Censorship is the enemy of the people and as you might know, it is very common on https://news.ycombinator.com/.
