The implication is that the nurse should NOT have told the fat and possibly diabetic patient to "stop eating cupcakes"??

This is complete insanity. Brought to you by your friendly cupcake company, pharma dealer, and dialysis provider.

“Eat less, move more is not the treatment of obesity – get over it,”

This is true for me and I learned it the hard way. In the long term I can no more decide to eat less than breath less. I've tried, over and over. I've tried on the movement side too, walking thousands of miles with only temporary relief. What I can do is eat nutritiously dense food, such that my appetite and weight are regulated without much willpower. That works and fast. For me simply getting enough protein made all the difference. Hunger is the main lever your body has to pull when it's missing some essential nutrient. The garden variety obesity problem isn't the MPG or RPM, it's the fuel mixture.

The fatter people become, the more attractive I appear by simply eating less and moving more. So by all means, eat that second breakfast burrito!

Maybe weight loss is reversible, but if you're not assuming you can do anything after you lost weight, you can keep weight low.

Just work to where you can outrun your fork. It's difficult but doable.

Hippocratic Oath slams against silly and ignorant laws.
