Few people know, but Bitcoin was actually invented to stop the time war.

Huge amounts of human activity go into the blockchain and then the timing of blocks and who finds them is dependent on all of it in a highly non-linear and computationally expensive way.

This, of course, makes it infeasible to construct alterations of the past with predictable consequences in the future.

As such, its invention was almost inevitable as it's a stable solution that prevents history from constantly changing. :D
