My dream would be a Mac-like 14 hour battery life experience running Ubuntu. I don't want to buy a Mac or be tied to their walled garden, it's literally my last resort - but I do need a laptop with better battery life than x86_64's with 3 hour battery life in a good day.

no idea on Linux, but I've seen some benchmark reported up to crazy 28h long on Windows, and ~ 22h more like average across several models
