Hello HN! I have a few retired Intel based Mac laptops, and I am thinking to turn them into Linux machines. It’s been a while since I ran Linux desktop on the regular so I thought I would ask about the current state of the art. I am looking for something that is a good daily driver without a lot of futzing.
Parent his suggestion is probably one of the best choices if stability is what you are looking for.
Personally, I run arch for lazy people on a bunch of old intel macs.

It just performs a bit better being somewhat tweaked out and comes with what i need by default yet is still stable enough doing rolling releases despite being arch based.
On top of that, the aesthetic are also a match.
