I've added myself because why not? I think this is a cool project. Sure people are shy and I understand that, I'm shy too. Or I just don't know why contact someone just because he is on hackernews. But I've been on hackernews for more than a decade and I always used throwaway accounts and I realized that it is a waste to be too anonymous at a certain point.
Even when there were just forums, it was useful to have an identity on a forum, I remember meeting people with similar interests in the early 00s thanks to them, it's worth to try again.
EDIT: also can you consider add the personal websites as links? Socials are added but I think it's cool if we get to easily travel to users personal websites. Yeah there may be some abuse, but maybe it's worth the risk? Please consider this too
sometimes it's good but the problem with using only throwaways is that you don't get to build a presence which is a shame because a presence eases the mind of everyone if you wanna get in contact for business or anything else.
Also I've made this account to stop using throwaways, I've just added my website too so I'm definitively not that anonymous now (thanks for pointing out this would still look like a throwaway)
