Isn’t this the same BloomTech founded by Austen Allred that was subject of all of the hubbub for running coding bootcamps (“Lambda”, “BloomTech”) that got into all sorts of trouble a while back for (according to the US Government) deceiving students? [2]

“government agency banned Allred from student-lending activities for 10 years and permanently banned BloomTech from all consumer-lending activities. In addition, BloomTech must pay $64,000 and Allred must pay $100,000 in civil penalties, which will go toward a victim relief fund” [3]

Maybe that explains the “free of charge” part of it. lol

Interesting. That also explains why they are claiming to be from YC S17. I guess this just the next incarnation of LambdaSchool, and all the baggage that comes with it. Or, another attempt to re-brand to avoid said baggage.

More than 2 weeks ago, so I guess we don't need to engage much deeper than that, eh?

But really, this looks less like training, and more like the most insane interview process we've seen yet.

Wonder why this is being advertised on the front page then.

Requirements:

..

* Ability to dedicate up to 100 hours per week

If you are doing 'hardcore learning', I'd expect you need 8 hours of sleep at night. 247 - 87 - 100 = 12.

I guess if you eat every meal in 20 minutes, and don't drive anywhere this is totally doable!

This course is not for everybody -- only those determined to do whatever it takes to succeed. There are alternatives to sleep used by top performers: caffeine, cocaine, (meth)amphetamines, etc.

Yes, this is sarcasm.

Consider applying for YC's Spring batch! Applications are open till Feb 11.
