Right, because civilization and having that responsibility is better than everyone living in caves individually with no responsibilities. This is not a bad tradeoff and you would not actually be happy with the reality of your rhetoric.
This country was founded specifically to have a small and weak federal government. The states were supposed to have more power. Now the federal government continues to grow and grow, it's like a cancer.
