You mean "second amendment solutions"? If voting fails, your popguns aren't going to do you any good. If the military believes that he was legitimately elected, you won't last ten seconds.
I'd like to think that the military wouldn't follow an illegal order -- the top generals appear to have at least some integrity. But if the election happens, and is no worse than it was in 2024, they will stand by it.
A third term is not a new idea. Scholars looked at this in 1999. Supposedly, there were people that wanted Obama to pull and end run around the Constitution for a third term; but, he dismissed the idea. (https://www.cnn.com/2025/03/30/politics/video/john-dean-trum...)
I have confidence in American democracy and the American people. If Trump can win two elections, he will win a third; however, Trump's third term might be held by a Trump whose name is not Trump.
And in the background you can hear Obama rejoicing and wishing him success. And in a nice way old obama vs ancient trump will be a great way to close the roaring 2020s
An amendment proposed by congress [0] very specifically disallows a third term if the first two were consecutive. It's all been very cynical in that way.
Speaking as someone not from the country, US federal politics has became alarmingly... gerontocratic. Which means the younger generations get fewer chances to grow political acumen and expertise (unless, of course, they have backing). Which only hurts the rest of the country in the long term.
