The Helene strip from FL to WV is very interesting. I would not buy a home in the south without having significant backup power to survive the new normal of continuous onslaught of weather disasters.

Best option for a residence is probably a propane generator with a massive LP tank, or a diesel generator with a massive day tank.

Solar with lots of battery backup is also an option, especially if power can be bidirectional to offset power bills and the initial installation costs.
