Ignoring the possibility of tipping points with self-reinforcing feedbacks is like playing with matches near a gas station.

Of course the doomers have been wrong sometimes, here predicting an ice-free Arctic in September 2015 :

But I will still side with their painstaking lists of things that could go wrong, than with the insane mainstream, which mostly acts like they care first and foremost about increasing our supply of matches.
