Sounds like it's working as expected. It would have sucked if it started working and saw nothing new. I really like how the headlines have just become "JWST discovers something new. Again."

Is the LHC humanity's biggest let down? Confirmed the existence of the Higgs boson but birthed 0 black holes!

It can be expected and still be exciting.

Yeah, "expected" is the scientific theory, JWST's observations are the evidence, or at least help refine the theory and come up with new ones.

And to rule things out.

I'm guessing dylan604 is a manager of some sort.

"I discovered a new element!"

"It's expected we'd find a new one eventually. Now get back to work"

That's a rather petty closing paragraph. Your comment would be better without it.

There is actually great value in confirming things we thought were probably right. A person upthread mentioned that the LHC hadn't discovered much new, but the vast majority of its data does provide confirmation of what we thought and when we talk about a "reproducibility crisis" it is actually good to know that these things are correct even if it's not headline news.

Sure, call me out, but not the petty comment which I replied? I think the petty meter has become too sensitive

I held you to a higher standard based on the meat of your comment. It would have stood without that last.

I've written many comments where I added a dig at the end but I now try to remove them because they rarely help.

I'm a millenial, mr manager :)

The fact that you didn't deny it means I was spot on, lol.

I neither confirmed nor denied your baseless accusation
