This is interesting: the author, Lars Ramberg, is said to have interpreted the toilet as the unitary cell for privacy. So there's this intriguing idea that the basic societal values are founded on one's natural right to privacy.

(Some could argue that the proposal of the toilet as a symbol for privacy entirely misses the point. Others could argue that before the projection of the higher (e.g. one's ideas), the lower compels.)
