It's possible that Google is too late in stopping OpenAI.
Every non-tech person around me goes to ChatGPT app by default. The branding is too strong. OpenAI also seems to productize better. They're moving at a faster clip. Google has historically been very weak at productizing tech.
For all their resources and the ability to quickly ship software via LLM assistants, they still don't have a Mac app for Gemini.
