I used linux for many years but changed to OSX when I start to go to Rails conferences. It was the de-facto standard OS and every good tool as developed "mac-first". Textmate is a good example.

Time goes and when was needed to buy another computer, I couldn't find any good reason to buy another mac. And a great reason to not use: it's not free (as in speech).
