You forgot DragonflyBSD with its HAMMER filesystem, virtual kernels, etc.

Can DragonflyBSD be good for using it as a desktop for programming and such? I've tried to google if BSD OSs are good for that purpose, but it seems like they might be better suited as servers and such, and you're better off using something like Linux for programming. Do you have an opinion on that?
