For the unawary, the latest standard revision is actually from 2014.


I'm curious just how much is object-oriented Cobol even used in the real world. My knowledge is that new Cobol is barely written, only old COBOL codebases being maintained.


Most likely as much as Cobol.Net (http://www.fujitsu.com/global/products/software/developer-to...) and similar, but it still means companies care enough to update the language.
