I'm curious just how much is object-oriented Cobol even used in the real world. My knowledge is that new Cobol is barely written, only old COBOL codebases being maintained.

Most likely as much as Cobol.Net (
http://www.fujitsu.com/global/products/software/developer-to...
) and similar, but it still means companies care enough to update the language.
