Exactly. I'm not a Cobol programmer but I did learn it in school. From this limited experience and from speaking to some older guys who actually do it for a living, there's probably no language out there that's better at what Cobol is all about: report generation. Not to mention decimal arithmetic.
Yeah, I did 1 week of it in the summer of 1978 and for what it's good at, it was slick. Found myself missing the decimal arithmetic stuff when I was doing C on early UNIX(TM) systems in the '80s.
