Title of a best seller by a respectable author, Nassim Taleb

As of my comment there were 120 comments :)

Great servers DO NOT want to get paid a higher wage from the restaurant instead of tips because they make so much more in tips.

"Great servers"? You mean servers who deal with large bills? The amount they get as tips is determine generally by the bill not the service.

Yes, the proportionality is one stupid thing about tipping. If I take a super expensive bottle of wine, is the service worth more? Conversely, if I take the cheapest salad, is it worth less?

Speaking as someone who has many friends who owns restaurants - you're speaking outside of your domain knowledge

According to the article, 'great' really means white, young, pretty...

You mean I shouldn't have tipped the miminum wage South Asian who installed my beach umbrella? They're far from their family doing a job in a very foreign country, sleeping who knows where along with who knows how many colleagues and sending most of their income home.

Do you tip your accountant if you have one? Or doctor? Or every nurse when you visit hospital?

Do companies tip consultants extra beyond billed rate if they think they did nice enough job?

Moon not Luna

"Moon" (capitalized) is too confusing when talking about moons. It's easier to give it its own designation.

confusing for who?

Every article that talks about medical or scientific discoveries should be required to state how long before it can actually benefit people

Audi S3?

Other than a land grab and closer proximity to Europe - what does Russia gain from this?

Nuclear weapons are all about posturing. Both sides know the consequences of detonation and do everything in their power to avoid it. Thus posturing.

Putin's ego and desire for the old ways.

Why would you think it was a bunch of "finance bros"? You can BS your way to the top in such things as Sales because raw intellect and mental ability is not required. The same can be said for many aspects of finance. But you can't just do HFT or Quant because you want to - you actually need skills. Same way I can't BS my way into designing a rocket - you either can or you can't.

Because I didn't know what they actually did, I assumed it was just another rebranding of the same seemingly-useless stuff that I associated with finance bros.

I mentioned in the very comment that you're replying to that I was wrong.

Being able to BS yourself upward is a skill in itself. Management becomes "political" up the ladder

EQ is a thing just like IQ. A person can get by with just one if it’s off the charts, but most people would do better expanding both.

Shhh and don't tell anyone about mainland Greece yet to be disturbed by tourism even though it has always been very easily accessible

Crete is not part of Cyclades

There's a more charitable reading that you should probably give them given how much time they have spent in the region! It's a list of three distinct places: mainland Greece, the Cyclades, Crete.

Did you read over some of the punctuation? I did not read Cyclades as being part of Crete as written

It's subtle, as a non native english speaker I read it as a "zoom" too.

The the author is at fault for one's own misunderstanding? That's pretty egregious on it's own reading.
