You're right, but... The idea comes from the desktop world. AMD's zen 4 desktop cpu's especially the gaming variants like the Ryzen 7 7800X3D almost matches the performance per watt of Apple's M3.

Their laptop cpu's as some companies did release same model different cpu were less efficient than intel.

But the Asus ProArt P16 (used in the article) did manage an extreme endurance score in the video test called Big Buck Bunny H.264 1080p which runs at 150 cd/m² with 21 hours. With it's higher resolution, oled and 10% less battery capacity that's better 40 minutes better than the macbook pro 16 m3 max. For me noise matters, that Asus has a whisper mode which produces 42db as much as an M3 max under full load. Please be aware that if you're susceptible of PWM, that ASUS laptop has issues.

Sometimes the marketing name and a logo specify a certain mode like USB 10Gbps the marketing name is only used for USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 mode, the black/white logo with 10 Gbps always correspond to USB 3.2 Gen 2×1 mode.

If you see USB in blue and 10 Gbps in red than it's either USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 or USB4 Gen 2×1 ( those modes have different encodings )

I wish all smartphones would be able to tell you the capabilities of the wires you're using. You can't expect consumers to order weird devices from China just to know which wire to freaking use with their phones.

Yeah, that was actually quite helpful (when properly implemented). Especially in era of laptops that had a mixture, you knew to plug in the portable drive into blue not the black USB port (and put your phone to charge into yellow one:).

Yellow (always supplies power) was non standard, as was green. Would have been nice if that was included in an addendum to the USB spec though.

Also to consider: Wifi networks are used for tracking. Google and Microsoft offer methods for disabling this for the network that you control. (_nomap/website) Apple does not. Also Google makes it not impossible to stop tracking ( F-droid/Netguard/Superfreezz) on your phone. Pro iphone: Apple does not share access to an advertising id for monetization without user consent. Apple guards application boundaries.
