Is she okay?

Health care providers can order genetic testing to help discover how your body metabolizes tons of things.

I recently had it done and it illuminated an entire class of anti-depressant that has very little efficacy for me.

Those tests are so limited in scope, I would not bother.

To be fair, on the US site it's an "Early Access" feature that is in no way the default.

On airbnb.com.au, the full cost is the default view, and you can change the pricing to USD very easily in the bottom floating footer.

Also anecdotal, but everyone metabolizes these classes of drugs differently. I'm an "ultra-rapid metabolizer" of a slew of SSRIs, so they're next to worthless for me compared to other medications.

Also anecdotal. And some people are ultra-slow metabolizers, which can cause the drugs to stay in the body longer than anyone could have anticipated. So the effects of 1 pill daily can feel like twice that amount since previous day dosis is still in the blood.

SSRIs affect me strangely. I feel mentally like I’m not depressed but then I have all of the symptoms of depression amplified. Oversleep, no motivation etc but hey I feel like I’m not sad internally.

You do not need the full HomePod to do multi-room audio. I have three HomePod Minis, one 1st gen HomePod, two AppleTVs, and an old Airport Express that I can use in any combination for whole home audio in sync. It works extremely well.

I'm recently diagnosed with ADHD-like symptoms and started on a low dose of Focalin about a month ago.

I can say for short-term focus and motivation it's been life-changing.

I would frequently flip-flop between getting sucked into rabbit-holes and having too many things going on at once. I now find that I can focus on tasks much better throughout the work day. My quality of work has improved as I've been able to better focus my time on what matter.

My doc has warned that over time I likely will need dosage increases, but for now it's been a wonderful experience with very few side effects (headaches the first day or two).

You will get out of your career what you put into it. I had kids at 24/26 and have found success relative to my peers in the field.

Sure there are sacrifices to be made with respect to career options. You can't (or shouldn't) just move cities every three years when a new job comes up, but working remotely can level that playing field quite a bit.

I found a "Backwoods Surgery and Medicine" book from 1910 at my grandparent's house. Half of the pain-related guidance involved cocaine in some form.

If people didn't enjoy it so much, it would probably be an impressively flexible medication.

If we ever legalized it it would probably replace or augment caffeine in just about everything overnight.

But aren’t there probably long term harmful consequences of cocaine even in small doses?

indiginous people have been consuming coca leaves with no bad effects for thousands of years. the dose makes the poison.

by comparison, if you snorted pure caffine powder. you'd literally die

Pure cocaine? Maybe? But many people do smaller amounts for years and we don’t know about it.

What I‘ve always wondered what drugs is it that burn people out in that recognizable way. And what ones are fairly recoverable.

this is just a reality of the economic policy we’ve chosen to pursue here.

Now who is "we" in this scenario?

American citizens collectively.

But also the general development of the world

The last few weeks have been really bad. I get 3-4 obvious spam emails a week now where I would maybe get 1 every 6 months prior.
